Leadership Tangipahoa Announces John Vaughan Memorial Endowment
The Board of Directors for Leadership Tangipahoa announced an endowment has been established in memory of John Vaughan. "John played an important role in Leadership Tangipahoa," said Leadership President Kelly Wells. "We could always count on John to help with the class, alumni events and board gatherings. Our board, along with our alumni, felt this endowment is a great way to honor his service to our community." Wells made the comments following a presentation to Vaughan's wife, Noelle, at their December board meeting. The endowment will be used to provide financial aid for students who wish to participate in Leadership Tangipahoa but may not have a sponsor. A native and resident of Ponchatoula, John Vaughan was a 1979 graduate of Ponchatoula High School. He attended Mississippi State University where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance. In 2000 he graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Banking. Vaughan's wife told the board that John was truly devoted to Leadership Tangipahoa. "Throughout his career, he could have been involved in a number of organizations," said Noelle Vaughn, "but John chose to play an active role in Leadership Tangipahoa." John Vaughan passed away in December 2012, and he was the father of three children. Wells also invited friends and classmates of Vaughan to contribute to the Endowment.
